Adenoids
Adenoids are mass of soft tissue behind the nasal cavity just as tonsils on either side of the throat.
Adenoids are located higher and further back behind the palate, where the nasal passages connect with the throat. Therefore it is often called as Palatine Tonsils. Both are important lymphoid tissues found in the pharynx.
The lymphoid tissue provides defense against pathogenic organisms. All of us have adenoids at birth and in childhood, but as we grow into adolescence, they start to shrink.
Adenoiditis is the inflammation of the adenoids caused often by bacteria or viruses.
When enlarged adenoids may intermittently block the flow of air through the throat. This can cause stoppage of breathing for a few seconds, and can occur several times each night.
In children enlarged adenoids can lead to repeated ear infections.

Kali Bichromicum: Thick ropy greenish yellow colored discharge from nose. Coryza with blocked nose.
Calcarea Iodata: Greenish colored discharge and the patient is sensitive to cold.
Other Remedies:
Cistus Canadensis:There is a sensation of coldness in various parts. Throat has a spongy feeling and dry and cold air passing over parts cause pain. There is a small dry spot in the throat, must sip water frequently.
