Influenza
It is an acute infectious epidemic disease, characterized by a series of catarrhal manifestations affecting the respiratory and frequently the digestive tract.
It attacks all persons without discrimination of age, sex, occupation.
It usually commences with a chilliness followed by fever of a remittent character, anorexia, headache, apathy and prostration.
It may be divided into 3 forms,the catarrhal, gastric and nervous, depending upon the organs which receive brunt of the attack.
Complications are frequent and apt to be severe, pneumonia, pleurisy, phthisis, bronchitis, gastritis, neuralgia, meningitis etc, all having been observed.
It spreads rapidly. It is not very fatal, but as it modifies and complicates all other existing diseases, it is especially hard on the weak and also on the aged.

Arsenicum Album: Chief remedy for influenza with restlessness and prostration. Thirst for small quantities of water at short intervals.
Influenzinum: Influenzinum is a chief remedy for flu symptoms with oculo-nasal catarrh. It is helpful in influenza, sinusitis, nasal polyp, chronic atrophic rhinitis, nasal voice. It also helps in conjunctivitis of influenza.
Eupatorium Perfolatum: Severe pains in limbs and bones feel broken. Chills in back.
Pyrogenium: extreme chilliness, no fire or heat can warm the patient. Pulse abnormally rapid 140-170/ minute, out of proportion of temperature. Bruised feeling all over.
