Nasal Polyp

Nasal polypi are oedematous ethmoid sinus mucosa, are usually multiple and ate seen to prolapse from the ethmoid cells in the region of the middle turbinate.These are round, smooth, soft, semi-translucent, pale yellow, glistening structures attached to the sinus mucosa by a relatively narrow stalk or pedicle. They are recognized by their glistening gelatinous appearance when light is focused upon them.

They are mostly seen in adults, and patients complain of nasal obstruction, nasal discharge, and some loss of smell and taste and mouth breathing.

Many of the sufferers are allergic to dusts and pollens, which may initiate attacks of sneezing and discharge from the nose.

Lemna Minor: Lemna Minor is a chief remedy for nasal conditions like rhinitis and polypi. There is putrid smell from nose or complete loss of smell. Crusts and muco-purulent discharge is very abundant. There is pain from nostrils to ear which is like a string. Lemna Minor helps in reducing nasal obstruction.

Teucrium Marum: It is also indicated in mucous nasal polypus. Coryza, with stoppage of nostrils. Crawling in nostrils with lachrymation and sneezing.Nose blocked the side the patient lies on and is worse in wet weather.

Calcarea Carbonica: Mucous polyp bleeds easily. Alternately fluent , dry or acrid coryza.

Silicea: Nose inflammed, blocked and the patient is prone to cold. Perforation of the septum.

Sanguinaria: Nasal polyp with loss of smell. Swelling at the root of the nose. Worse change of weather.

Phosphorus: Nasal polyps bleeds easily with frequent sneezings. Imaginary foul smell. Craving for cold drinks.
