Excess Perspiration

The sweat glands that produce sweat in the body are of two varieties

1. The eccrine glands are present all over the skin, particularly the palms, but not in mucous membranes.
The glands are situated in the dermis and secrete a watery fluid containing chloride, lactic acid, fatty acids, urea etc.

2. The apocrine glands are large sweat glands whose ducts open into the hair follicles.
They are found in the axillae, anogenital areas, nipples, areolae, and scalp.
They do not function till puberty.
These glands produce wax in the ears.

Excessive perspiration is seen due to over heat. The body tries to regulate the temperature in accordance with the surroundings.

It is seen during exercises, after the temperature falls down in fevers, summer season, less humidity in weather, and stress.

Homeopathic Treatment:

Chief Remedies:

Silicea: Silicea is a chief remedy for excessive perspiration. Sweats especially on palms of hands and soles of feet. Sweat offensive in nature.

Pilocarpus: Pilocarpus  It has a marked action on various skin problems with profuse sweating. Excessive perspiration from all parts of the body with persistent dryness of the skin. It is also useful in dry eczema. There is chilliness with sweat. The sweat and saliva
produced is enormous in quantity.

Other Remedies:

Thuja Occidentalis: Sweat on uncovered parts smells like honey.

Mercurius Solubilis: Cold greasy sweat while eating. Profuse without relief.

Calcarea Phosphorica: Partial sweats on hands with coldness of neck and chest.

Sulphur: Sweat smells like garlic in armpits.
